Is it time for the President Obama to make a direct attack?
Here is what is going on right now… Rupe Murdock is giving large sums of money to the United States Chamber of Commerce. Overseas companies (some backed by their governments) are also giving large sums of money to the United States Chamber of Commerce.
The United States Chamber so openly and unashamedly advocates outsourcing American jobs that it actually provides intelligence to companies in China, India and Russia in the form of alerts to them when American businesses may be planning to bring work back that is currently being outsourced. For the money, foreign interests expect them to lobby to keep our dollars and jobs flowing.
The foreign companies (and countries) are really only concerned with our jobs. They know the money will catch up eventually when they actually take over providing more and more of the goods and services we once owned. Any idiot can see that tomorrow they will own much of the business we send them and who knows, they may in turn graciously outsource to us. I guess I am the only one who is aware that we are in competition with the people who are a huge contributor to our economic woes. We are getting in so deep, we will not become a solvent until our children pay China what we borrowed.
Meanwhile, here in the United States Rupe is paying salaries to his favorite Republican candidates to keep the rhetoric of attack dogs like Sean Hannity and Glenn Beck flowing from the mouths of GOP Presidential candidates like Palin, Gingrich, and Huckabee to an American population that has not yet grasped the size of the hole Bush left us in. In fact, he uses his ‘news room’ to further the views of knuckleheads like Angle, Rand and the other radical candidates who openly advocate the overthrow of the spirit of the unity of one for all and all for one inculcated in our constitution. After all, isn’t capitalism supposed to ensure the health of the nation and not the wealth of the few privileged. When the driving force of any society is to gorge on the wealth of a nation at the individual level, the society collapses under the weight of the division…not socialism or communism…but benevolence and sharing. Can you say Rome?
The purpose of this little outburst is to shout out as loud as I can: “President Obama, why aren’t you telling the people what is really happening? American greed has evolved to the point where it directly threatens us where we are most vulnerable…jobs. Tell the American people about the jobs bills being held up by conservative Republicans bent on destroying you personally that will help put millions of white blue collar workers to work. Why isn’t this kind of information showing up in their mail boxes?”
CNN is not going to make a compelling argument for anything said here. MSNBC is busy preaching to the choir. Fox…is going to deny everything implied here. They are the reason so many misguided people feel empowered because theirs is the only message many white middle and blue collar workers hear and they know it! My guess is that at least 50% of Fox viewers are not aware that candidates like Angle, O’Donnell and Rand are fearful of programs like NBC’s Meet The Press, CBS’s Face The Nation or CNN’s State of The Union.
These radical self-serving people could get elected to positions of national consequence without ever having faced the scrutiny their opponents face. We are no longer ‘by the people’. Let us at least level the playing field. Dammit, tell the people! Do you agree? Mel Reed
